I have this weird fear of spider webs. I can only imagine the size of cobwebs a giant spider like that could make. Probably strong enough to catch small animals even. They just give me the shivers.

Anything bigger then half an inch here is considered OMG sized.

That's one benefit of living where it's cold.

Most bugs and snakes and such can't get big enough to eat a cat like they have where it's warmer.

No hair on the spider. Very dark abdomen compared to the legs, unless those were it's guts after I slayed it.

Growing up in Texas I would see these little bastards all the time. It sucks when you find one in your bed.

Yes! Now I feel slightly better about it. I think that's what it was at least. My fucking carpet is bug colored, I'm lucky I saw it.

Unless you provoked or startled it in some way I doubt it would of bitten you, Next time keep an empty jar around and a sheet of paper, trap it and let it loose outside. It will do more good there than as a smear on your carpet.

Yep, I can handle the cold, knowing we don't have to worry about half the stuff people in the south have to worry about.

That said, I can't wait for the snow to be gone! We can actually see pavement now as of monday, so we're on a good start.

I think it's a brown recluse! But he's squashed beyond identification 🙁

ROFL!!

I doubt it was a Brown Recluse, as they're reclusive ;^)

You find them in wood piles, and under your junk in the attic.

And they aren't big.
