...No optical drives! I want to install my sound card drivers (since the driver CD doesn't have autorun) but I can't see my optical drives and I don't know the letters for my drives. Ahh!

You have two optical drives? Did you set one to master and the other to slave? If not, you could have a conflict that keeps the OS from recognizing them.

Yes I have one set to Master and one set to slave, so I don't know...I'm downloading SP2 so maybe that'll help.

remobe the master/slave pins, and set itto cable seledt in the bios
make sure the cable is connected the right way
make sure they have power

Haha I found out what I did wrong. I had switched my original slave CD drive to the highest drive slot, then plugged the master into it, and plugged the slave into the original master drive. I just switched the pins and they work fine now.

But can someone help me with my hard drive? I use a 160gb Seagate Barracuda SATA drive.

Oh woops I posted it somewhere else. Anyway, I bought a 160GB hard drive and it shows up as 130ish.

di you have XP SP1 installed?
before SP1 windows had that 130 GB limit SP1 fixed that, install SP1, remove teh partition and reformat should fix it, if windows is installed on it, it gets tricky, yull need to reformat and install but from a XP CD that either has SP1 built in or you will manually need to slip streme it into it

*swears*

Well, I only have one disk, my boot disk, and even though I do have SP2 (which includes SP1 right?) installed, I guess I can't do anything about it.

it has to be done when windows formats the disk initially before you even install windows on it, yea it sucks and you arnt the first to discover this annoyance

Heh, well I can live with it just as long as I don't hit 130GB, then I don't know what I'd do. Probably hit it with my face.
