I can't reformat my computer....

I am trying to reformat my computer. When I start the computer it says press any key to boot from cd. But it doesn't boot when I press 10 different keys. I dont know whats wrong with it.

If the keyboard uses a round PS/2 plug, then make sure it's in the purple port and not the green one. Any good?

yes I can get to the BIOS and I cant boot for some reason.

I have DFI Lanparty nf4 Ultra-d motherboard.

I don't have the manual for any of the DFI nF4's yet (not at home, anyway), but see if there's a Legacy USB feature you can enable in the BIOS menus somewhere. You may have to delve a few layers into the BIOS menus to find this setting.

Alternately, if you've got any PS/2-type keyboards laying around... yeah.

Not a good idea. He can surely boot up and reformat his drive w/ a floppy. But how is he going to install windows xp if he can't boot up w/ a CD? He needs to address the CD boot issue first.

I figured out what the problem was. I had to go into the bios and enable USB keyboard.

Uhh, boot with the disk, then go to the CD drive? It's not that hard, people.

Although, it still might have not worked since the problem was an option in the BIOS, and the boot disk may or may not have enabled USB support.
