I can't pass Mario 3!

I have played this game since I was a kid and played a while and put it down to do other kid things. Never did I pass this game. Flash forward to today and I have the emulator on my laptop which has Mario 1, 2, 3, Lost levels and Super Mario World. I have warped to world 7 and I can't even get past level 1! Here's where I fail. https://youtu.be/eKyOnjlrAjQ

Read the description on the white artifact.

Just look at the evilness of this world!

wow, if that is you in the youtube video, you are so full of fail.

you missed at least a powerup, and 2 extra guys.

Best advice is to start this level by using a mushroom/fireflower from your stored items, and then get the tail by kicking the turtle to bounce between the 2 blocks.

There is a weird way to beat the game at that level. On my phone and too lazy to find and paste a video. That said I find 3 is one of the easier ones to beat. There's one airship level in 8 that is wtfbbq fast, so you save a p wing for that. Or cloud.

We have a console gaming forum, you know. Ichinisan and I are awesome at this game. Paging Ichinisan.

It's a speed runner glitch.

7-1 is a cakewalk.

Also, you can skip from world 1 all the way to world 8.

Collect both whistles in the first world. Use the second whistle while you're still in the warp zone.

I'm too lazy for that. I am using a USB Super Nintendo controller and I'm not sure if I'm not doing something right when trying to grab a turtle. Been a while.

Unlike Super Mario World, SMB3 will not let you pick up a turtle shell as you drop down onto it. You just hold the run button as you walk into the side of a shell.

OH! See I always did that in world.
Before we knew how to beat that mini fortress maze in World 8 we used to play through to World 3 to obtain a Jugem's Cloud (Lakitu's Cloud) before using one of our three whistles we had obtained by then.

Eventually we learned our way through that World 8 mini fortress and started going from World 1 to World 7 using the two in the first world then got to World 8 by completing World 7. We still sucked back then but we eventually got good enough to run straight through without the warps (when we had the time).

If you notice, the Warp Zone says "World 9," which is why you get to the last tier when you use your second whistle there.

I do now from seeing it in Ichinisan's video. And I guess you have to use them in the warp level. I failed to do that.

You use 1 on the main map, then you use the 2nd one in the warp map. Easy World 8.
Of course, when you get their you'll have no equipment, so that makes it kinda tough.

I've gotten a P-wing a few times and a Tanooki Suit.

Holy shit! PETA is one fucked up organization. If you can find it, Pen & Teller's bull shit show talked about PETA. Was pretty good.

I remember doing the double whistle thing as a kid, get two in world 1, then use them both to go straight to world 8. Those were in the days before saving. Heck, UPSes were not even a thing. Slight power blip and you had to restart from scratch. So warping was one way to get ahead next time you played. Eventually got a SNES with SMW, that was my favourite one.

Warping all the time is not fun though, I've actually played SMB3 through without warping at all. I recently played with one of my nephews and I show him all the tricks and hidden stuff. Funny because I remember being around his age and one of my uncles showing me all that. Passing on important life knowledge. 😛
