This stupid "Shatterproof" ruler made in China that I bought at Target has the inches divided into tenths? Every tenth of an inch has a tick mark, and every two-tenths has the tick mark larger. That means the half inch mark, since it's an odd number of tenths, is marked with a small tick???!!! How stupid do they have to be to make this ruler? I mean, who would've thought to check something this ridiculous before buying a stinking ruler? Should I test it next time I buy one to see if it's straight?!

I still can't #$%ing believe it.

You didn't look at the thing before you bought it? It's not like you should have been surprised by this...

Just don't lick it.

It was made in China and probably has lead and some of the poison milk on it.

There are 3 countries that use imperial units. That is more than 2, less than 5 countries that use imperial units. Get a 50 CM ruler

I had a plastic ruler made in China that was 3% short (the 12" mark was actually measuring only 11 2/3") . Only problem was I was using it at work for calibrating a printing machine and it took me two days of massive frustration before I thought "Hmm, is it possible that it's the ruler that's wrong, not the machine?"

And that 6-sided thing is not a ruler, it's a scale.

Thanks! I think your version is slightly more accurate.

I've seen those in my college labs and surveying class. Absolute nightmare. Give me back my 'ugly' numbered divisions that I'm use to.

or you have an engineering scale. I have both engineering and architectural scales that I use. one has graduations in 10ths, 20ths, etc... and the architectural has 1/16ths, then 1/4 scale, 1/8th scale, 1/16th scale, 1/3 scale and some others.

I have a ruler w/ 6 sides, but there's no inches measurement. The side profile looks like the Mitsubishi logo.

thats a drafting scale, but it should have an inches side somewhere unless it's metric.

I bought it for my architect drafting class many years ago. It's in fact metric w/ 6 different scales.
