I can't get neighborhood network to work. I'm using Earthlink DSL (PPPoE)

Here is my setup:
2 computers (one running WinXP, other running Win2000) feed into a hub, which is uplinked to the DSL Modem. Earthlink DSL uses PPP over Ethernet so we "dial in" to get internet. We can both be dialed in at the same time. There will be 2 more computers in our network soon.

The problem is that we cannot see each other on the neighborhood network. How can we set this up? Does it have anything to do w/ the DSL and dynamic IPs?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Edit: Problem solved! See my post below.

The same word ?Sharing? is used to describe Sharing the Internet, and sharing Files, and other resources between computers. In network term, these are not the same.

?Computers not seeing one the other?, is usually a result of faulty sharing setting.

If you have Software Firewall on any of the computers, disable it and look carefully over the Network?s share settings.

You need a router/switch to share the connection between multiple computers. This will also isolate them onto their own subnet, which, when they are all configured to be in the same "workgroup", will allow you to share files between them, in addition to sharing an internet connection. I'll leave it up to others to recommend a good router for your high speed connection, as I have no expertise in that area (since I share my dialup connection over my LAN with my Windows XP Pro system).

When I got home I discovered that my roommate bought a Linksys router. We set it up and now everything's working! Thanks for your help guys.
