I cant get my NEC Burner to be recognized.

I cant get my NEC Burner to be recognized by windows. I can play cd's and stuff in it. But Windows does not see it as a cd writer. What do I need to do?

Which version of Windows? Which program are you using to burn CD's?

try upgrading firmware

How new is the burner, sometimes you need to upgrade the software (Nero) to get it to recognize the newest burners.
Not sure about Windows XP recognition though.
