Will anyone help me! The laptop says it sees the wireless network, with full signal strength, and says its connected, BUT the router is not detecting it as being there. So naturaly, not assigning it an IP, how can i fix this?

Do you have any kind of WEP or WPA enabled on the wireless network? I've seen before where it will look like you are connected even though you have the wrong key entered, and you won't get an IP.

are you sure the PC is set to use dhcp?

in TCP/IP properties everything (both IP address and DNS) should be set to automatic

Gotta have the PC setup with corresponding SSID(net name), WEP key, etc. If the PC differs with the router, the connectivity wont happen. Sure the radio signal is there. But, then have to get the rest set. Let us know how it goes.
