I have two B.A. degrees (English and Telecommunications) with a 3.43 GPA, and I cannot find work anywhere. I have been applying for work all summer; the only thing I found was 20 hours/week at the cafe in a Sam's Club. I just don't know what to do.

My lease is about to expire and I will be forced to move back with my parents to a villiage with 500 citizens (where the biggest city nearby has just over 2,000 people). I certainly won't find work there.

My only option is to move to a larger city, but I have no savings to move. So if I do get a job, I can't get an apartment. Also, I plan on applying to grad school for the Fall '07' school year; so if I do move, I need to move soon.

What is one to do in my situation?

Is there anyone is ATOT who works in similar fields who can help out ScottyB?

Since AT is such a diverse community, I am sure someone can help you with something. Unfortunately, I do not have any contacts in telecommunication industry, otherwise I would have asked for your resume.

Good luck.

Lower them? I have applied to 20 - 30 just-over-minimum-wage jobs this summer, plus many good ones. They are as low as they get. There is just no work.

I think it is fair to say that he has lowered his expectations. I do not expect him to lower it anymore.

Well what do you want to do? What did you do while getting your degrees to help you out once you graduated?

I find that most people in your situation just didn't plan well for the "real world". It doesn't help that you have two degrees that give people the yawns.

Open a penis pill spam and google click fraud business. It seems profitable. Everyone wants penis pills...and...click fraud?

Where are you at in MI? If and/when you can afford it come to SE thehospitals around here are hiring like mad for every position under the sun. Especially Telecom/IT I work for the Detroit Medical Center and we're in the middle of transitioning to fully digital and electronic patient medical records which requires much IT/telecom work. It's worth looking into in other parts of the state as well.
