Dammit I've looked almost everywhere that's near me for this thing...Target, Best Buy, 2 Toys-R-Us, KB Toys, 2 EBs, Gamestop, and it's also sold out everywhere online as well...I just checked eBay and they're going for $55-65, and retail's $40 so I don't feel like paying an extra $25. Next stop is Walmart I guess.....Have any/many of you been able to get ahold of the damn thing?

edit - So Imported PM'd me and said he was going shopping and that he'd look for one...well he found one, picked it up for me, and is going out to ship it. :D:D:D

Thanks again man, I appreciate it :D:D:D

I work at Target and was told we wouldn't be selling them at all (or at least we won't be for a long time). You can imagine the expression on my face when we got 3 in stock last week. I picked all 3 up and sold them all to friends I know for no profit.

Yeah, I know I could have sold them and made like $60 on ebay ... but I'd rather play online with my friends than some random tool off of ebay. Oh, and I happened to get mine the first day it came out at Best Buy ... so I sold all 3 to people I know. One person might not get it though (he just moved to Florida, and he's going to find out if he can get broadband today). If he can't get broadband he doesn't want the NA. Hit me up Friday or Saturday and I *might* have one for sale. Other than that just keep calling around and trying to find a place with one.

If you have a PS2 and want to play this game online, all you have to do is purchase a USB Network Adapter and plug it into your PS2's USB port. Then plug your cable/DSL modem into the USB Network Adapter, make one little change in the game's Network options and you are ready to go!

Text

To connect you PS2 to a high speed network, you are going to need an adaptor to go from the USB port on the front of your PS2 to the Ethernet connection on the back of your DSL or Cable modem, or into a free port on your network.

Text

So basically, you can use a regular PC USB network adaptor. You shouldn't have any trouble finding one for cheap.

Well, don't expect to play SOCOM if you do get one. Several people I know say the rooms are constantly filled up and they only have a limited number available. Each room supposedly has a 256 player limited and if its filled up, forget playing. Also the rooms are supposedly randomly booting people and then they are unable to get back in to play. I'm sure Sony will fix this problem, but its a bad sign for the start of their online service.

Personally, I'm really looking forward to Xbox Live. PC gaming has been rather stale lately aside from BF1942. The PS2 just doesn't offer anything that I want anymore. Plus, it hurts to look at those horrible graphics.

my brother said socom online has really gotten crappy lately (only been out 2 weeks too) supposedly you have a ton of 56k'ers online and the game is unplayable.

I could've sworn the box for SOCOM says that its multiplayer is broadband only....anyways I called Walmart and they're OOS too :(

It is but someone was able to trick it so 56k'ers can get in. He says that 56k'ers have ruined online games of Socom.

thank god for XBOX and Ethernet Only... :D

Sony is gonna have to adapt, and make "dialup only" ... "broadband only" and "mixed" sections of their online game network.
