I can't drive..... 65.

Seriously, can you? Unless the freeway is clogged up, I can't see myself doing 65, it seems like I'm freaking walking. I'm very comfortable at 80~85, and I feel perfectly safe and in control. Isn't it time to up the speed limit?

I always make sure I drive slightly slower than anyone who drives like you. Just a little ticket insurance on my part.

I never go over 10 mph of the speed limit on an Interstate highway. You get busted for 20 over in my state u r fvcked!

The only time I do 65 is when it's like 2-3am in the morning and I'm driving back home. At this time, there is virtually NO traffic so keeping at the speed limit on the fast lane is cool since people who drive fast just go around. However, during the day, I do like 80 mph cause no one here on 880 goes 65. Oh yeah...Interstate 880 (Bay Area) is considered the 2nd worse freeway in the country. The 405 down in Southern CA is rated #1.

65 is already pretty fast. However, if traffic is going that fast (I mean maybe 8 cars) then I'll go with them.

Yeah, 20 over in this great state can get you in a whole bunch of trouble. At that magic number, its up to the officer which ticket(s) they want to issue. Wreckless driving, Driving with intent to kill, excessive speed, etc. AND, you can be arrested.

Gah. A wreck is an accident, therefore "wreckless" means accident-free. You don't get tickets for accident-free driving! RECKLESS

i keep up with traffic. 85 or 55, its not painful unless cars are zooming by me
Kudos to that, at least you're not some of these other self-centered, passive-agressive assholes that drives 65 on the fast lane no matter what the traffice flow is, makes everyone to go around them.

I have no problem doing 65. I let you assholes do what you need to while my commute home is stress free.

As long as your not in the fast last, I don't care even if your riding a bike.

Heh, I didn't know that. I drove on the 405 many times a week when I was down in SoCal, then I moved to college and the nearest freeway is the 880 🙂. I don't have a car, though, so I never have to worry about traffic now.

anyone been on 696 in michigan? if you aren't doing 85 in the fast lane you are getting run over.

i was with a few cars going home on 96/696 for 20 miles holding a constant 100 mph

Heh. My bus can't do 65 either some of the time. 😉

I've grown much mellower since I got my bus. It'll actually cruise at 75-ish, but I find the stability drops off quickly over 60. So I'm usually doing 60-65 most of the time.

how many tickets have you got?

None and I do the same thing. Just this weekend I wound out my car to more then 110 on 4th. Wasn't at redline yet and still had another gear to go😀

Depends on the traffic conditions and all. I generally keep up with the faster cars around me, meaning that taking I-85 into atlanta has me doing a constant 75-80 in a 55. I usually don't like going more than 10 over the limit (ticket paranoia), though.

my car isn't smooth past 75. i usually hover around 70 w/ traffic. unless it's rush hour. then it's 10... 45, light, 45, light, 45 light... depending on how I want to get home
