SagaLore isn't interested in cherries. Instead SagaLore wants the pinkish long rounded wood; you know, the wood that the cherry comes from. I'm certain you don't want a photo of that.Originally posted by: Ocguy31

Depends on whether you want the fruit or the flowers more.

which ones are the "tart" cherries? they're supposed to be the best.

Since you said cherry tree and not cherry trees, you've limited your choices quite a bit. AFAIK, the sweet cherries need a 2nd tree for pollination. Personally, I'd put in 3 or 4 cherry trees - a couple sweet & a couple tart. Then, 2 or 3 peach trees. And, a couple plum trees. For the hell of it, why not a couple hundred strawberry plants. Oh, and some pear trees, of course.

Also called sour or pie cherries. They're highly acidic, and deter birds a little bit more than the sweet ones.
The montmorency tart cherry is typically used for homemade pies... *drool*

Sounds like a plan. Have a sunny yard I can borrow? 😛
