hey,
I got a new heatsink, zalman 7700 AlCu, in hopes that I would be able to overclock more than with my stock cooler.
With my stock heatsink (ASUS P4P800-e Deluxe, pentium 4 3.0c 'northwood'), I could clock to 3.5 ghz using the ASUS "AI Overclocking".
With my new heatsink, yes, I can clock slightly higher (3.6 ghz) - but even when I'm not doing anything, it freezes up after some time - within MINUTES (The temperature still remains low, 116F).
Is my RAM (2X512MB Geil PC3200 CL 2.5-6-6-X, where X is some number which I forgot) limiting my overclocking? I mean those are REALLY bad timings, I know. Or is it becuase I'm using ASUS "AI Overclocking" ?
By the way, is there any way to NOT overclock my RAM when I overclock my CPU?
