Yeah, either one would strip the skin off you if the bullet came within about 2 feet. And imagine the cool mist of human if you got hit with it....

The gun range I frequent has one of those in the lobby. And if you got hit with one, I doubt you would call the terminal ballistics "cool".

No, I wouldnt call it anything if I got hit with it, I'd be a little fine mist and vapor floating down to the ground. Something like that would just all but vaporize a guy if it hit them.

There was a guy killed a few weeks ago by a .50 at point blank. Was loading the system into a vehicle and failed to properly clear the weapon (M2 has to be racked twice to clear ammo). Was pushing it into the vehicle with his hand against the muzzle and the butterfly trigger hit something in the back of the truck. Went off, through his hand, and into his chest and out his back.

The guy was alive for a couple of hours with the aid of medics. The story is somewhere on ArmyTimes. Reports said that the guy kind of stood there for a second, and like after he realized what had happened dropped to the ground :(

It wouldnt vaporize them. You probably saw the video of the Apache firing it's 30mm auto-cannon at the guys unloading RPGs. It took off legs, but didnt vaporize them. And the standard round loaded into the Apache's 30mm is HEDP, which if you want to make a messy kill, is a lot better than just a HP.

The only non-explosive round I can think of off-hand that would do a fair job of vaporizing a man would be a canister round fired from a tank cannon, at the appropriate range.

Ok, I wasnt actually being literal with the whole vaporize statement. No, it wouldnt, but it'd sure make one hell of a big mess in comparison to that plinker .223 round from the M family of guns.

Did he fail to properly unload the weapon, or did someone else?
