I mean, come on! The Lisa came out in '83 and LCDs were laughably primitive. I might believe that it was a design concept molded from plastic from 1993 but not 83. The GUI was far too new.

I think the resolution on that screen is much too high for 83. Plus that appears to be an e-check or something on the screen in the top shot.

The interface looks a lot like the original Mac, which was released in 1984. It's quite possible to have a non-working prototype that looks like that back then.

I can't find the web page but they're are lots of neat inventions that never made it to market. Example: in the 1950's they created a thin screen tv (with a lot of electronics in the base with the thin screen on top). Due to the expense and the issues with getting the geometry right, it was never put into production. So... the idea of advanced tech that we've never heard of isn't unlikely.
