Kenji - Here's an abridged story of the origin of NEF.

Once upon a time there was a user on ATOT by the name of Nef. Nef posted many, many useless threads and replies in order to upgrade his member status. He was later banned. His incredible display of bandwidth wastage was enough to cause a few members to coin the phrase "to nef" wherein someone is posting without reason or purpose, solely to obtain a higher post count. Hope that helps.

Being Golden isn't all that it is built up to be. Jeez, I don't even have keys to the john yet as I am told I have to be Platinum first to have that honor bestowed upon me. I hate when you cats don't lift the seat up. 😉

LOL - why didn't you just ask what it meant?

Its better to look stupid for 5 minutes when you ask a dumb question than stay stupid because you don't want to ask the dumb question. Many a time I feel like a thicko for asking the most stupid of questions!
 
wow i have over 1400 now and i only joined in december. i guess i should ask the mods to change my name to Sir-Nefs-A-Lot 😉
 
Congrats with going golden!

It didn't take me long to figure out what nef meant, but it took a long time before I heard the story/explanation, it's actually only the second time I see it.
 
Been here over two years and am still not Golden, but posting in this thread has gotten me one step closer 🙂
