I can't AWP

Loaded up CS source for the first time in 7 months. Couldn't AWP. I haven't played CS seriously for ~3 years. Last time was in high school senior year when I used to scrim. Was Cal-IM back in junior year I think, but yea..

Fired up the AWP and I missed all 6 shots before being glocked.

Left the server leading with 23 kills. Dunno, pub still seems retardedly newbish.

It's not a newb gun, because if you're newb you wouldn't be able to do very well with it. Ok, say you're decent in pub servers then, you can probably blast 4 - 5 ppl off in a pub game, but you throw decent Cal-O or IM person in and give them an M4, and I can guarantee you that newb awper who can usually kill 4 - 5 ppl in pub games per round can't even survive against some strafing.

If you're dying in a pub game against some random awper, either you suck or he's league status.

Bottom line is that people cry that they die so easily to awps. Learn to deal with them.

I wasn't crying, I was just responding to someone saying that the only reason people don't like awps is because you can't spray with it. The only problem I have is when I am in a pub and someone starts awping. It seems to almost always cause a chain reaction of almost everyone else pulling out awps. I seriously think the game would be funner without a 1 hit kill weapon.

True I don't really care much about the awp. I just wish a few people would acknlowledge some of the faults the gun plays into CS.

My weapon of choice is the shotgun. Either the auto or manual are fine with me. Headshot with one of them at close range can't be beat. I especially enjoy waiting behind a corner that's typically rushed past, and gun down a bunch in the back. Sure it's a sleazy tactic, but that's what you get for rushing blindly into a room and not checking around.


I outright gave up at CS a few years ago because I spent most of my time in observer mode. My reaction time is generally at least a full half second or longer. Fast pingtimes and a good videocard don't help at all if your brain-to-hand connection has more lag than your Internet connection.

I suck with the AWP...I mean, I'm totally sh|t with it. The only time I use it is when I broke and only have a sidearm and find one on the ground. Some people are insane with them, I'm just not one of them. Besides, my specialty is shooting people in the back.
