I can't access my other computer

I have set up my three computers on a network and have various folders shared on each system. for some reason lately I can access my desktop from my laptops, but can't access my laptops from my desktop. The window pops up for the username and password but I am not given the option to chose username. It always says guest so I am unable to log in.

Any ideas?

change security settings under control panel, under administrative tools under local security policys.
then under local policies, under security options, look for Network access: sharing and security moduel for local accounts. It needs to be set to classic not guests only. This is on the PC that does the sharing. I would change it on all the PC's..

I asume this is a xp pro PC..

All my systems are currently running pro. I'll check these settings later but I'm pretty sure that's how I have them. It used to work and then one day it only gave me guest options.

So I just tried and when I clicked security policies I get this error:

Snap-in failed to initialize.
Name:Group Policy Object Editor
CLSID:{8fcob734-aoe1-11d1-a7d3-0000f87571e3}

Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings, http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html

As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what is allowed to be shared.

That didn't help at all. Sometimes I just hate computers.
