i cannot understand what he is saying...PLZ help

I m workig for one of major hardware vendor support.

We hv replaced a modem(interna) for a cust whoi is using Timeclock software .(i do not know what it is ). He is complaining that he can't lower down the speed of modem to match the speed . I hv promised i do not know what to do..
although i can help him to lower down the connect speed. Buyt he says he had already done it..
Do not know what to do...

Plz help me...

Whaaa? Lower the speed? Dialup? You mean people still use that?

Why does he need to lower the speed to access this software? Links to the product page of the modem & TimeClock would help here.

- M4H

actually M4H dialup is sometimes the only option....I live in a 3 year old development outside West Palm Beach Florida (a big city), average home price is $250k however, fiber is run to the curb so no dsl here....we now have WISP, but they have only 1 option, drill a hole directly through to the wall where the port will be and then to a pcmcia card, they will not allow a cable run or a router run.

It sounds like the IV drug user needs has a client who's having port speed vs modem problems. It's one of those things that playing with it at the location will probably be easy, but solving remotely with a broken engrish person will prove daunting. 🙁

Good luck.

If he says he has already lowered the speed then what is the problem?

Or are you trying to say that the modem can't be lowered enough, that the modem is still too fast?

For a very slow modem, an old external modem from eBay could go very slow. My old Modem Blaster can go as slow as 300 baud.

Geez, I really hope you are German or something and are using a German to English translator because whatever you are typing really looks troubling. Anyways, TimeClock is a program/service that acts like an electronic punchcard that keeps track of employees. You might want to contact TimeClock to follow up on this connecton problem.
