I CANNOT get my U.S. Robotics (mostly) wireless network to work...

I have a wireless 22Mbs router connected to my PC's NIC via an ethernet cable.
I have 11Mbs wireless card in my laptop.

I can't get my laptop to connect to the router (at least that is what I think part of the problem is)--the red terminal icon in the system tray displays, "Not Linked" when I hover the mouse over it.

I have installed and uninstalled several times. I have updated drivers and firmware. I just don't know what to do next.

When I try to use "Network Setup Wizard" it tells me that the 'hardware is disconnected'.

The wireless card is plugged in and the light on it just continuously blinks.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks.

have you tried setting up your 22MB router to only run at 11MB?
have you made sure they are running the same fequency modulation?
have you made sure they are running the same encription?
What OS are you running? Network Wizards blow chunks at alarming rates.

I have not tried to set the router at 11Mbs...I will.
I don't have anyway to set the frequency modulation or encryption. The only settings that the U.S. Robotics Wireless LAN Utility has that I can adjust are: Enable/Disable Radio and Rescan.

I'm screwed.
