I have a 753DF and i have a dell monitor that i think is samsung. Both of them flicker, but my mom and sister dont notice it. My dad has an old ibm monitor that doesnt flicker. I have already tried changing refresh rates with defualt thing and special programs. I have set it at every setting from 45 to 160 Hz. I am begging to think that the problem is just me? Could it be that both samsungs are shadow masks? Does anyone else have this problem?

Even if they were both shadow masks, that should not have anything to do with you seeing flickering. What is the refresh rate on the old IBM monitor? Maybe because of different lighting? Maybe your eyes are really sensitive :).

Do what I did, get a 17" lcd, the price has come down a lot recently. No flicker here and no eye strain, I can sit in front of a computer all day and not feel my eyes getting sore.

Did you check your monitor's input voltage and your refresh rate against monitor specs? Sounds like you might have an electrical problem in the house too, irregular power can cause monitor flicker. I have a Philips Brilliance 201P myself, and have never observed any flicker, and my eyes are NOTORIOUSLY picky. (I can't stand refresh rates below 80Hz - I'm running 85Hz.) I'd replace everything in the house with Philips Brilliance monitors.. hee. They're actually reasonably priced, if you look around. (I paid $1025 for my 201P in '99. Pricewatch claims $1078 for the 180P.)
