I know you must hate this question but I am GREEN.....

I have set up sharing with full access a few times..
I just installed WinXP x64 on my Server can can't get it to share full access..

It shares the shared folder.
I have simple shring off..

THE ISSUE IS:
When I first connect to it it never askes for my L/P just says Access Deined..

I have the same L/P on but systems
I have turned sharing on for Uses, Admins ....

ONLY WAY IT WORKES IS TO SHARE FOR EVERYONE..

How do I get it to ask for Logon and Password for a USER or Admin????

Thanks.....

I found the reason why..

This fixxed it but I did not have an 31 error msg

Error 31 when attempting to browse the XP machine

This error occurs if you set up a user account without a password, and then attempt to log in across the network. By default, Windows XP doesn't permit remote users to connect from the network without a password. To allow access without a password:

Go to Control Panel | Performance and Maintenance | Administrative Tools | Local Security Policy.
Expand Local Policies | Security options.
Double-click Accounts: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console login only, which is enabled by default. Disable this option

suggestion: setup a password. and make sure that you have the same exact username/passwd on the server as well to make things simple.

Hi,

I do have same L/P (Login and Password)
I tried to say that in post above but my bad typing may have confused you :)

"I have the same L/P on but systems "

Should have been "on BOTH systems"

Thank you very much for you reply thought....
