I can see nVidiots' point of view now...

I sold my TNT1 card last night (along with its nice, crisp 2D) and gone back to ol' crusty, my Cirrus Logic crutch. The 2D is fuzzy and yecchy.... but after a day and a half it doesn't seem quite as bad anymore.

These nVidiots saying "there's nothing wrong with my 2D!" simply get used to the fuzz and don't notice the difference anymore. It's happening right in front of me...

I don't want to get used to the fuzz. 🙂 I want a good 2D card again soon!

Huh?
The 2d on the original TNT's was horrendous. Worse than that even.
If people are basing nVidia's 2d on that, then no wonder they complain.

The difference between the original TNT's 2d and the GeForce2's 2d is like comparing the difference's between the nVidia Riva 128's 3d and the GeForce2's 3d. Vast improvement is a HUGE understatement.

"I sold my TNT1 card last night (along with its nice, crisp 2D)"

BWAAAAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!!!!! 😀

you a funny guy!

"gone back to ...Cirrus Logic"

ah, okay, no wonder. I mean, when you compare Swanson Salisbury steak to dog food, it's no wonder you like the Salisbury steak so much. 😉

"These nVidiots saying "there's nothing wrong with my 2D!" simply get used to the fuzz... "

exactly

"I don't want to get used to the fuzz. I want a good 2D card again "

1) You never had a good 2d card to begin with
2) Aren't you the one talking about a 5500 for $110??? There is your answer. Save your lunch money, pimp out the cat, beat up your little brother and take his lunch money, and go get y'self some....

Okay, it's obvious you don't believe me, but the ASUS 3400TNT was SURPRISINGLY good at 2D! Way better than the Creative TNT I had a couple years ago! At least equal the the V3-3500 I played with for a while.

Hey, any truth to the rumour I'm hearing about DX8? Built-in FSAA for some cards (like the G400/Max) that don't normally support it?

I went through many TNT's in my day's, even the 3400 and they were not good. I went through a Canopus 2500, CL TNT, Asus 3400, STB Velocity 4400 and all were horrible in 2D. The difference between now and then is big.

I have to say the majority of you who say the TNT1 had bad 2D are smoking crack. I have owned a 4400 and a 5500 and on both, the 2d has been very crisp at 1600x1200x16.

Granted, its no Matrox, but there is nothing wrong with the 2d and it has always been very crisp, legible, and in general very nice on both cards.

"pimp out the cat, beat up your little brother and take his lunch money"
now I know why i'm not rich!!!
what a fool i've been 🙂

From my old TNT card to Geforce2 MX I noticed a improvement in 2D quality, however the TNT I had was ok(Creative TNT card)2D wise so I guess like all cards it depends on make, monitor, resolution etc.Btw my 2D image on my MX is as good as my friends Voodoo3, so you will always get the different viewpoints from Nvidia/3dfx owners. If you want the best image in 2D buy a Matrox 🙂

)
🙂

I had no problem with my STB TNT card running 1600x1200x32@75Hz, though I noticed that succesive cards had improved quality, due to the natural improvement in RAMDAC speeds. (Helps to have a great monitor too!)

I had no problems with my V3400 back in the day.
Wasnt as good as the V3 and the 19" Im on as I write this, but nothing wrong with it.
