I have tried going through the very long MSI K8NGM2-FID thread, but didn't find anything (it could be there and I missed it, but there is so much to look through).
I have an old machine with a MSI K8NGM2-FID that has now been converted to a HTPC. I hooked it up last night and can not get 5.1 out of the built in SPDIF connector. I believe I have all of the latest updates, but will check again tonight to make sure.
I have the Realtek HD audio installed and have selected 6 channel for my speakers. During the "test" I hear the front two speakers only, no center, no rears, no sub. I have made sure that my Denon 3802 was on the correct input mode, but also cycled through everything I could think of to see if something else would work. Under the SPDIF output settings I have tried 44, 48, and 96kHz. When the 96KHz setting is chosen the receiver switches to 96KHz direct so it seems something is right.
I am using MediaPortal for my front end and went through the settings to ensure that it would output DD/DTS audio as well, but still only get 2 channel audio.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for any help!
