I can no longer save any picture file as .JPG on my Computer, WTF???!!!!! HELP

OK last night i powered up my computer went on the net and tried to save a picture and when i right click on the picture it brings up the usual box so you can select in what folder you wanan save the picture (default name for it being "untitled"), so you could rename the file 1st filed File Name and the 2nd field called Save Type As

NOW for me Save Type As only gives 1 option now Bitmap (.bmp) and when i try to open up my choices its the only choice everything disappeared, no .jpg, no other formats NOTHING JUST BITMAP.

its like my operating system (windows xp prof) corrupted itself or something i cannot select .jpg as my choice to save pictures or any other format like .gif only 1 format .bmp is highlighted always.

I can type the filename as Anandtech.jpg for instance and it works but now i have to do it manually every time???

WHAT THE F*** happened to my computer? I need help real bad here not just because its annoying but i have no clue how all my other options disappeared!

Clear I.Es temporary internet files. This is a well known bug and appears at least once a week round here.

Its amazing how fast you build up IE temporary files once you get broadband After a week of browsing the cache is about 10x the size of my first hard disk!

If you have broadband you don't really need a cache file anyway...its prolly quicker to grab it from the remote server again rather than force your browser to search through Gbs worth of cached files.

My suggestion: Set your cache to something like 100Mb.

Another solution - don't use IE.
