Both of my dogs (Red Healer and Teacup Shitzu) are from shelters, so I kid lol.

I was just being the counterbalance to the inevitable posters preaching on how buying from breeders is ridiculous and shelter pets need homes too, yadayadayada.

I just can't imagine paying for a cat or dog. I've owned both and they're great, but can't you just pick up some free kittens some place?

If you had to pay for a cat, I really can't imagine paying more than $30.

Lol, thank-you and your two eerily identical friends for responding. As soon as I posted I kinda' thought that, oops, that might be the case. :)

If I ever stop rescuing animals and buy one (our last 4 cats where actually born by a stray in our back yard (We took the momma and got her spayed, but she was too feral to keep)), I will get a Savannah cat.

Cute!

Just remember, he's one irrational thought away from clawing to shreds the hand that feeds it. :p

Teh cuteness overload! Years and years ago, I woke up one morning in a beautiful house to the sound of birdsong in the tree canopy all around me that dominated my view through the huge, sun filled windows of the bedroom.

In that bed were my new g/f (it was her house and I'd just moved in), my Great Dane Bogart, and the amazing cat we'd just picked up on impulse for free as he was sitting unleashed on the counter of the pet store we'd entered the day before to ask where we could find a nearby bakery on our way to a picnic at the lake/reservoir on the property of the old estate where I'd previously been living.

He was also sleeping in the crook of my neck. Contentment I can't do justice to in words suffused my entire being. The whole scene felt like heaven on earth.

I sure hope he grows into those ears! Otherwise, you might try calling him RADAR? ;)

Personally, I would never pay that much for an animal, unless I planned on riding it, milking it, or eating it. But to each his own, I guess!

I would suggest getting insurance on the little squirt, though. Sure as hell, if you're going to pay almost $500 for a cat, you don't want to get squeamish about money if you have to shell out for expensive emergency vet bills.

Awwwww ...

He looks so happy, very cool breed!!!
Most people I know just have "housecat" (myself included), though I do have a grandparent who loves Siamese.

Congrats :)

Yeah man, how's the eye? I mean, as soon as you're all healed up, it's basically natural law (different than the kind of law you are) that the cat will go after it.

That is a really cute cat though.
