I built a commuter bike (bicycle, not motorcycle)

Cool bike - it's too iced over/cold for me to ride my bike around here now, but have fun nontheles! (And if you're in one of the states where the temperatures actually drop under 32 degrees at least once a year, careful! :thumbsup😉

yeah when i used to bike everywhere i busted my ass on ice more times than i care to count...it hurts...just like landing on concrete cept the abrasions arent as bad

Nice. I took my Trek MTB I wasn't using for off-roading since my friend broke his ankle riding with me a few years ago and put some road tires on the mtb wheels. Made a great commuter bike. Much more resistant to flats but not as slow as knobbies.

Edit-I'm going to use it for commuting maybe a couple times a month or possibly once a week after the time change this spring. I don't like riding these SoCal roads at dusk or after the sun goes down.

Nice bike. I'm thinking about getting road bike. Right now I commute to work on a full suspension mountain bike. It's okay, but, it starting to hurt my back when I really step into it. How much did that bike cost you?

Try a hardtail with road tires. Personally, I find a mtb with riser bars (or even flat bars) more comfortable for daily commuting than a roadbike.
