hey guys i got my parts today and i put it together alrdy and it works but idk what to do next and it doesnt show my sata hd in post so what do i do???

since i didnt order a floppy drive i had to take one out for an old comp and when i press f1 from the post screen it says disk boot failure insert disk and press again.

my specs are amd athlon 64 3000+, 1gb corsair ram, seagate 80gb 7200rpm, neo k8n motherboard, sunbeam samurai case, leadtek 6600gt, and a xclio.

Have you checked the bios to make sure SATA is enabled?
My mobo has another thing that pops up after bios but before OS boots where you can specify SATA drives, etc.

i think everything is right in the BIOS but when i press the button to cont. its says " Verifing DMI Pool data ..........." and then aft couple secs it says " Disk Boot Failure, insert system disk and press enter" idk what system disk is but i am using a sata hd so plz help me 🙁 🙁 🙁

I am assuming your trying to load your OS for the first time - is that correct? A system disk is a disk with the operating system installed. Disconnect all hard drives except the one onto which you want to install the OS. Go into BIOS setup (see link I provided above) and make sure you enable SATA settings. Now reboot using your CD as the first boot device. You should be able to load the OS onto the SATA drive.

yea i am loading the Os for the first time
but i dont have a floppy drive and i have a sata hd
my mobo gave me the sata drivers on a floppy but idk what
to do with it. and i tried it your way it still gives me the message

make sure you enable the floppy controller and sata controller in the bios. then, when windows installation starts pres F6.

Um usually you don't need the SATA disk unless you're doing something with RAID. Just go to BIOS and set the first boot device to "CD-ROM" and reboot with your windows CD in the drive.

k i read it and i alrdy told u i dont have a floppy drive so how can that work and my stupid comp just keeps giving me that message everytime i continue from POST screen. idk what do it wont let me do anything idk why

Mrvile is correct - you usually do not need the SATA drivers on the floppy if you do not use RAID. Are you using RAID. If not, ignore the floppy and just boot from your CD making sure your BIOS is set up to boot from the CD. Can you boot from the CD?

That message means you don't have an operating system installed, or a bootable disk, you should be getting that message... You need to go in to bios, and set the cd-rom as the first boot device. Put your windows cd in the drive, and then you can boot from the CD. You most likely will not need the sata drivers on the floppy disk. If you get to the part of windows installation where you partition the hard drive, and it says it can't find a hard drive, then you will have to use the floppy disk, or you will have to make a slipstreamed cd with the drivers on it, there is no other way around it.

i tried and it is still give me that message, i did put the cd-rom as first boot and when i exit bios it comes to the screen where it lets me pick if i wanna go to POST or BIOS and i pick POST then it goes to the screen where it shows me the pci things and the message.

i am really sry if i am troubling u guys 🙁 🙁 🙁

EDIT: i have dvd r/rw do u think maybe it doesnt read cd or something??

How is your CD set up? Is it on one of the IDE controllers separate from the SATA drive? It should have its own data cable and power cable. IDE controllers should be enable. I hope you went thru the BIOS settings on the link I provided. What make and model CD do you have?
