I broke my custom themes

I had msstyles themes working but wanted to install SP2. I found an updated uxtheme multipatcher from here, installed SP2, and when that was done, installed the uxtheme patch. Now none of my custom styles are listed in the display properties, my current style is a sort of combination of windows classic and the theme I had installed before SP2, and when I try to set the theme/style to the regular windows classic, or any other theme for that matter, I get an error about "Run a DLL App has encountered a problem..." and the offending appname is "rundll32.exe".

How can I fix this, or get the correct uxtheme installed or whatever? I have installed/uninstalled what the multipatcher 2.5.1 does and it still does the same thing everytime. Help!

Use sfc /scannow to replace any files you corrupted. reboot, make sure you can put on a default theme, and then install all the SP2 theme stuff again.

Thanks....I changed the dir name of "ServicePackUpdates" or something like that in the system folder....it had an i386 folder under that. Do I need to keep that folder or can I delete it? changing the name seemed to fix it.

those are the updated service pack 2 system files which should have been copied over to your real windows directory during SP2 installation.

hrm.....well, i seem to have done the same thing on my other computer :-/ yeah, I'm a dumbass....anyway, same scenario as above, except i've gone and deleted the "ServicePackUpdates" directory, run the uxtheme updater, and still no dice. I can't set it to another theme (get the rundll32.exe error) and none of the installed styles show up in the apprearance tab. I'm pretty sure I didn't run the "sfc /scannow" thing before, but if I try and run it it wants an SP2 cd (can I download that?). Help??

You can redownload SP2 and just have it extracted to a folder somewhere.
