I am really excited. I don't normally buy movies/series but Blu-ray is changing me. Although I doubt after this I'll buy any anytime soon since it was so fucking expensive.

This is arguably the greatest series ever, and factually the most expensive to produce.

Discuss.

Good series, watched all of them. Shame they did not finish Carnivale before embarking on it.

Great series. Wish they could have continued with it.

me too, although ending it where they did wasn't awful. I kind of felt they crammed stuff in during season 2. I think they had enough material that had they wanted to they could've turned season 2 into 2 seasons.

Yep, would've made three great seasons. After that, it would've turned into West Wing: Rome Edition.

This bluray is definitely on my list.

so far i think Rome looks fantastic. Its almost freaky realistic at times. Im not too happy about how annoying it is to remove the discs from the holders (although i like the presentation) because i feel like the discs will scratch (although i know that Blu-rays are more scratch resistant). its not letterboxed (which i am actually happy about).

Price drop as Rome is on Amazon Today's Deal of the Day: $60 for Blu Ray and $40 on DVD.

lol, $300--->$600--->$2000--->$10000. WHEN WILL IT STOP?!

My fist "system" in 2002 was Logitech z-560s for about $200.

7 years later, I just did a little total of what the current system cost.
It's about $17,000 for audio if I paid retail for everything. Actual cost is just under $10,000.
I'm pretty happy with how things are right now.

$2200 on video and also happy.

Another projector purchase every few years is likely for me. For audio, we'll see. I'll probably end up upgrading my amp and then wondering why I did it afterward. I'll redo the bass shaker setup. I'll probably change out the subwoofer system once I get a "real" place (2x Danley DTS-10 "Super Spud" Kit if still available?)

So... when does this stop?

When you run into limits of external factors, I guess :p
