One other feature of the Escort 9500ix is the location of Red Light Cameras. When I get about 100 feet or so of a Red Light camera intersection, the radar detector informs me that this is a red light intersection. It makes me much more sensative to running a yellow light then at any other intersection.

I just watch for cops and brake lights on the highway and do not speed over ~7mph on residential streets.

My method has been full proof for the last 6 years and I speed a lot.

You are from Overland Park, I'm from Overland Park.

We both know there arent very many red light cameras in KC anyway. If you want, i'll PM you the entire list of them (its easy to find online anyway).

I use the best radar detector: common sense.

On the highway, keeping an eye out for cops and brake lights is all I've ever needed to do.

In the city, I go ~10mph over the limit, ~5mph if there is a cop around (they aren't hard to spot). Its kind of aggravating to drive in my college town because everyone drives slow as molasses (who drives UNDER the speed limit?), but in Miami the cops don't give a damn as long as you aren't a crazy amount over, so its more of a "speed suggestion" than a limit.

I obviously know where the Red Light cameras are, but if you don't have an detector, how will you know when they add new ones? Sometimes they put the locations in the newspapers but that doesn't always happen, as I read the paper and also know where all the red light cameras are and the two do not always match.
