yeah, i was really pumped when i won that auction. i kept praying someone wouldn't take it out from under me.

the sweet thing is that i'm selling my 3.5 year old powerbook for $450 this weekend, so i really bought this new laptop for like $200.

Deals on eBay are few and far between. I am constantly amazed at how people pay more than regular store prices for items. Case in point, I was bidding on a memory card for a camera last night that in the end went for $27. I saw the same card on Amazon for $25 shipped.

I've pretty much given up on finding a deal on eBay, but good luck with your purchase eits. I hope it all works out.

Depends on what you're looking for. You can find some specialty items for cheap on ebay (especially rebranded dell staff). I bought a low wattage mobile celeron CPU that was perfect for my file server box for only $12 a year or so ago. Couple of months ago I bought two new Intel dual port Gigabit server MT cards with all the bells and whistles for only ~$34 each or so, a single port desktop intel card cost ~$45 at newegg at that time.

the only thing i go to ebay for are for cufflinks and occasionally to look for a vintage omega/breightling.
