of the Mexican variety.

It's nice and spicy. I will be using it for various dishes, especially rice dishes.

I don't get good chorizo here often, so this is a nice treat.

:awe:

anyone else a fan of chorizo?

Put it in menudo and it's great.

Hard to say, never had it fresh. 🙁
Had the some of the larger brands versions of it, not spicy or anything though.
It's not bad. ~2-3 lbs in my freezer.

I got it fresh made from a local butcher.

Wow, is it ever spicy! It leaves a good spicy heat in your mouth for quite some time.

I should get more and freeze it.

you're just not used to it.

Winnipeg's spiciest dish is the seal-blubber pizza. 😛

you need to get into it gradually and you might then appreciate the layered flavours of spicy cooking.

I tried a... what's it called...a bramdbonso? it's a Indian (from India) bun, triangle shaped.. I think. I hated it. I was in an international mood that day, lol. I like chili and salsa but only light or medium.

lol

that's ok. Chili is a good start. Maybe try some different Indian dishes like a lamb korma. Not super spicy but does have plenty of spice and flavour.

You know what?

I tried to make my own chilli from scratch from a internet recipe. I bought all the spices but I put like 10x more chilli powder and cumin then I should have. So I put in a bunch more of the other ingredients from the recipe, beans hamburger corn and the other spices etc. I had this mess spread across three different pots because it kept getting bigger and bigger. It still tasted horrible and super hot.

I was ficking putting in tablespoons instead of teaspoons... I did'nt know the short hand for these things, LOL. What a waste.

Now I buy the little envelopes at safe way, the chilli mix and follow instructions. add hamburger, tomato paste and a can of kidney beans. Tastes good.

chili isn't hard to make with basic ingredients.

There are numerous recipes on ATOT for you to check out.

mine is probably the easiest and it turns out great when you let it simmer for about 4 hours.
