This gives me an idea though. I'd use say an atomic laser-cut fan grill above a piece of wood with an aluminum body? That'd look pretty cool... Easy to do, too.

Why not just put the cup on the table? Let's be honest, if you're thinking of using a fan grill as a coaster, you probably don't have a $2000 table.
