I believe in the soul but not in any God.....

I believe that when you die, your soul will be set free and maybe possibly re-incarnate into something else, but I don't think there's this thing called 'heaven' or 'hell'. I think that's just something christians/religious people use to scare you as part of their scare tactics.
No one really has any proof that there is a god.

Is there proof that there is a soul?

What is this soul made of? Where did it come from?

What is the catlyst responsible for putting this soul into a new body after death?

Can people have more than one soul?

All questions, not facts, yet you tore up the OP's original statement.

its when you boil down the ideas to their essences when the meaning becomes clearer. the essence of religion is the conversion of a temporary being into an eternal one. the essence of the soul is the decisions of the self. Life inspires the soul towards better decisions, eventually leading it towards THE BEST DECISIONS. Once the soul and the self embrace and enact the best decisions the relationship with God is established, God is literally the source of the best decisions, from the beginning to the end IMHO. Its just beings from the future waiting for all the beings of the present to agree that the time to live the most perfect way is now. Then we can all chill and laugh at how retarded we are.

If your soul is set free after you die and you possibly re-incarnate, that would imply a *purpose*.
What is the purpose, and what is the origin of that purpose?

1 per body, otherwise the soul cube in doom 3 would fill up much quicker

Problems with that theology...

Is there a finite number of souls?
Are souls created or destroyed?
Is there a chance I can come back as Pamela Anderson's bra?

Greeks (nix plato) had it where you just kind of hung around without a body. Plato had everything coming from the eternal and returning on death only to be reborn. In his system the ultimate goal was to cease existing through stopping the cycle.
It doesn't matter I could give out what I find most believable, but to anyone else it's just as unbelievable as anything else anyone says that doesn't agree with them.

Nah, when I was a worn out bra (should happen pretty quickly with Pam), my soul could migrate to like a fine & beautiful woodland creature. Of course they type of woodland creature I became would be dependent upon how well I served MS Anderson's boobies...
