Sounds legit.

Makes sense and sounds like proper Engrish: 1 lego, 2 or more legos.

Doesn't sound right: 1 lego, 2 or more lego.

Proper noun, and you could go either way with it. This is akin to a Ferrari owner complaining about using an "s" to pluralize the proper noun "Ferrari" for owning multiple ones. The purist would say "Ferrari cars" and "Lego blocks" respectively.

How anyone still takes Lego seriously beyond an overpriced whore is another question entirely, IMO the nomenclature is entirely irrelevant to the fact that they have strayed so far from their interchangeability core they are no longer relevant in my eyes.

Don't know about that. We are talking about the site that created this.

I want some more onion on my burger.

Guess I better go buy some more onions.

You could also say that you want more onions on your burger because "onions" in that context is short for onion pieces as opposed to whole onions.

People who don't understand this fail at English.

Similarly, I own three Nintendos. That's short for "I own three Nintendo[ Entertainment System console]s." In that context it has nothing to do with the plurality of the corporation the common name for the console is derived from. I was not saying that I own three Nintendo Co Ltd companies.

"Lego" is the brand name of the product (Lego sets) and company. "Legos" is short for Lego pieces. It's not that hard, people.

Adding an S to the end of a store name where it doesn't belong annoys me but adding to pluralize and indicate many is perfectly fine.

Sounds legit.

Makes sense and sounds like proper Engrish: 1 lego[ piece], 2 or more lego[ piece]s.

Doesn't sound right: 1 lego, 2 or more lego.

See?

If I said that I'm going to go play with my Legos, it means that I am going "to go play with my Lego[ piece]s," be they mixed or in a set.

Actually the name of the company is LEGO and the particular product is a LEGO brick. If you were just going to pluralize it, I would think it would be LEGOs, and if you are going to make it into a generic term for the plastic blocks, I'd go with legos, much like aspirins or kleenexes.

Thanks. IIRC, the name of the typical product is LEGO set or LEGO model or something. The name of the part is LEGO brick. ;)

Small revision to my rant above that doesn't really change anything: LEGOs is short for LEGO[ brick]s

Iamdoingitrite?

Yes. Yes you are, good sir.

If I'm the customer, I'll call it whatever the heck I want and Lego can't do crap about it but cry. Think I'll play with some Knex's instead because Legos suck.

You can call your penis "Roderick" as well if you want.

Oh and Lego>>>>>>>Knex

And you're going to play with Knex's what?

:p

OP got banned from 4chan. Isn't that enough justification to ban him here?
