I am thinking of upgrading my CPU/mobo, but I am lost

I have a P4 2.8 Northwood and mobo. I have read that a dual core would produce nice increases in the apps I use(audio/video/dvd burning). I would like some kind of graphically chart like I have seen for video cards that show a whole bunch of cpu's and whole that stack up against each other.

It has most newer cpu's, and several benchmarks, both single threaded apps and multitasking situations.
