I have the card currently disabled and my issues went away. What issues?
- Clean install of XP(gold)
- Via 4.34 drivers
- WHQL Santa Cruz drivers for win2k/XP
- Newest Detinator drivers for nvidia
- Intel pro 10/100 nic card
- adaptec 7580 pci scsi card
- Netgear eitherfast 10 Mbps NIC(isa)
- Bios is the latest rev for this MB (august)
- Hot point controller is disabled in bios.
- Sound is disabled in bios.
- Legacy sound support is disabled in bios
- Machine is currently not overclocked, just running at a stock 100 Mhz fsb/650 Mhz duron.
- acpi is enabled
My problem is before my clean install I had a win2k install with a sblive card. I upgrde to windows XP with no issues. I bought a SC so I can give my live to my brother. Removed all traces of Sblive from pc, install SC with newest drivers. Everything works, except I get pauses that range from quick ones to long pauses of 10 seconds or more. But the machine did crash. So this last weekend I decided to run a clean install of XP pro. Now the issues are worse and I get a complete system lock up. I tried moving the sound card from slot 3 to 4. Still same problems. Not sure what else to do other then go back to win2k, or trade this card for my old sblive so I can at least have decent sound.(onboard sound is suck)
Anyone with suggestions?
