It's been reported that neither Booker nor the Republicans who challenged him on confidentiality rules were aware of the clearance decision...runners may not have got to them in the middle of the hearing or emails on phones may have gone unchecked.

That said, there does seem to be some grasping at straws. Not sure how Booker was trying to connect this particular email chain to others released by Hirono (where Kavanaugh questioned whether native Hawaiians ought to be awarded same rights as native Americans.) There's nothing in the released materials that would really threaten his confirmation. I think Dems are just trying to setup "gotchas" to drive the point that Kavanaugh lies under oath.

Since you chose to start a new thread for forwarding the Republican talking point and ignore that this has already been covered in the existing Kavanaugh confirmation thread I might as well just paste my response from that thread here.

Booker was very clear as to why he chose to release the documents. The reason is that none of these documents contained national security info or personal info. Booker was demonstrating that the Republicans are lying about the reasons they want these documents suppressed. The intent of the release wasn’t to reveal a smoking gun with respect to Kavanaugh’s radical views on presidential powers, it was to show the American people that they are being lied to by both the Trump administration and Senate Republicans.

Maybe you could carry water in that thread instead of spawning new threads with the same crap?
