to the anime geek crowd or music aficionados:
This past weekend I went to a scifi convention. One night I wandered into the anime music video room, where they were showing clips of anime films/TV shows/etc. set to music. One music video in particular has stayed with me because the video and the music were both very good. The video seemed to be from just one source. There were ghostly dancing girls that seemed to be pursuing a girl wherever she went. At the end, this girl gets hit by a car and becomes one of the dancing girls.
The music was a rocking beat with lyrics kind of reminiscent to the whiney male rock groups of late, but still a great song that I've never heard.
Doing the google thang today, I see the clips came from the anime movie, Perfect Blue, which is supposed to be one of the best animes. Ever. And it was made in like 94 or 95. Eight years ago.
And the music, the song was "Sparkle and Shine" by Econoline Crush. Which came out about five ago, too. I don't know if the band is even still together.
Geez. I am so not hip. In any crowd, it now seems.
🙁
