I am so stuck on Rainbow 6 on the xbox right now

I'm on the mission where you can't shoot anyone and you're going solo and need to get to the second floor, but there's a guy who's watching tv and every time i try hiding under the staircase he comes back down and spots me.

Nope, they gave me tear gas grenades but they spot me when i throw those too. utterly useless. and the worse part is i'm playing it on Easy

I hate missions like that, I just used a cheat code on the PC version.

ok i suck at this game. will someone PLEASE tell me how to get past this part? I can't find a walkthrough anywhere, gamefaq just has one for the demo

you just walk around, go in the front door, up the stairs, hide in the little dark cubby.
