Yeah...but what if you buy something at a shop in an airport and need it for the airplane ride. They should ban this kind of packaging for consumer electronics.
 
Big pair of titanium scissors works for me, cut through the molded sides, across the weaker inner panel, then just pull it apart.
 
At my last job, we used a lot of compact flash cards, but they were in blister packages. I got tired of using the scalpel and used the paper cutter.

I just bought a wireless travel mouse for my laptop and it came in a blister package that was perforated and even had a convenient tab for opening. I don't know why more companies don't do that.

I have run across a few of those. We just got a Tracfone in that type.
 
I bought a flash drive that was in blister packaging. So I take some scissors and cut open the packaging. I found out later I cut the flash drive holder(just a flimsy piece of plastic) in half 🙁.
