I blame this on my high stress levels recently with the holidays/family etc. as well as working at a retail location throughout it all.

I meant to order a SATA RAID card from NewEgg to RAID0 these two 300GB drives that have been sitting here.

Now...this is AFTER I put in an Adaptec controller which just kept setting the array as "degraded" when the drives are fine. And after that a Highpoint controller card that would run great if the drives were not plugged in, but if plugged in it would lock up my BIOS.

So I just got a PROMISE one in and was trying to figure out why it didn't prompt me to enter the RAID config during boot....lo and behold I clicked on the wrong damn one. Oh well...ordered the right one and will toss this one on the shelf at work.

heh I guess. I've just had so much bad luck getting this RAID to work...2 bad/incompatible cards and now my dumb ass orders the wrong one.

I am behind at work because I had to pretty much run the place myself for a week so we are backed up and there is the after-christmas rush of stuff....kids who got computer parts for christmas and put them together and they dont' work.

I fixed one Athlon 64 with bent pins, a PSU that was in some crappy case as well as a motherboard that was screwed directly to the bttom of the case =/

Why do you say that? The two 300GB's are for backup...which is really what RAID 0 is for. They will store all of my photography stuff, documents, MP3's, etc. So if one drive goes kaput then I still have everything.

It's not "so funny" in your words....it's much more subtle than that. Perhaps the second half of your post could be seen as ridiculous but the first part isn't really seen in that light.
