My husband and I finally were able in August, to afford a newer car. It's a 1996 Ford Taurus, and I love it. We have had nothing but pieces of junk for years, and it was such a good feeling to finally have something nice looking to drive around in. Well, get up this morning, and somebody hit it! Scratched up the entire drivers side, and put a big dent in the back over the wheel. Better yet, its a hit and run. They hit our car, and never even stopped to say anything. So now we have to file a police report, and go through our insurance to get it fixed. I love the way some people are.....

Well here it goes. This is true by the way. I was at the beach a couple several years ago and someone hit my Cr-X. I was looking to see if someone left a note and find one on the windshield. I was like "cool". So I start reading it and this is what was on there.
To whom it may concern,
I am writing you this note to let you know that I hit your car. I am doing this because someone is staring at me thinking I am doing the right thing. I just backed into your car with my Pinto. Sorry I didn't leave any information but I am only in high school and don't have any money to pay for this.
Man, I was so damn pissed!!!!! Luckily, the person watching this kid took his plates down and I found out where this dummy lived. I went there and told him I was gonna kick his ass and then his Mom comes out to tell me that she will take care of it. After she finally pays for it, she makes me sign some paper saying I will not harrass her son.

Pricks. Perhaps their is more damage to their car then we know. Check the newspaper to see if any cars exploded mysteriously on the highway last night, killing all on board. That would be cool 😎

Thats cool Muffstas. I would have gotten the car fixed and then trailed him to school, leaving a different note on his windshield everyday. "I'm in HS, and can't pay for the damage", then that kid should get a job after school instead of racing his finely tuned automobile 😉

I can't believe how horrible some people are. I am really sorry to hear that, GF.
I find it incredibly sad(and it amazes me too) how destructive and careless society is. Take public transportation for example. They put in nice upholstery and gorgeous detail and guaranteed that in a month it will be full of rips, gum, grafitti, decorations ripped out, etc.
Why don't people care? what is this thing about "getting away with it" instead taking responsibility and becoming a better person?

Bummer, that really stinks GF. Maybe they just got scared and ran, and will come back later and admit their fault. Happened to me, someone nailed my truck (99 Kenworth, wanna talk about a repair bill? 🙂 ) Guy who hit it ran that night, but came back the next day and fessed up. I wasn't too mad, afer all that only creates stress for me. And his honesty was refreshing.
Good luck though, maybe you will have the same luck I did in this situation.

GF I feel your pain-
I was hit 3 times in 6 months, all while I was parked. Too bad the last one was a hit and run also, just like yours.. and is costing the most to get fixed. I was parked in a spot for 10 minutes, and got backed over by a lifted Dodge Ram. I had parallel parked, gone into the building to get some stuff, came out- the truck was gone, and I had a 6 inch dent at the same level that his tow hitch was at. I had even given him 4 feet of space just to make sure something like that wouldn't happen- this is the second time. Damn new hood is estimated at like $900 fully installed by the dealer, and I still have to pay a deductible. 🙁
Best of luck getting yours sorted out! At the very least, get a high estimate and then take it to a good body shop that can do it for less so you don't have to shell out for your deductible.. I'm installing my own hood, so I can nail down a carbon fiber one and not spend any money out of pocket. 😉

im seriously feeling for you....i parked my mom's jeep in a supermarket parking lot, and when i came back the bumper was severely messed up. ... what the f is up with these pricks on the road.....no wonder i have road rage....im getting road rage just reading these stories....
