i am sitting after being in class all day and finally seeing the footage of the plane impact and subsequent tower fall, i am speechless, sick to my stomach

it is a wonder that the Government can spend 25 billion dollars on security and survallince and not have a clue that could tip them off to this

Well, airport security is really a joke.. And it will always be with minimum wage guards who can't even speak much English.

Yes, and every penny of that 25 billion is on terriorism activity monitoring.

Israel is on full alert for terrorists attacks 24/7...365 days a year, and they get attacked regularly.

Would you be willing to increase your income tax by another 20% to help fight terrorism? You'll probably agree to now, but 6 months ago, you would have laughed at that thought. Hindsight is easy when you're so ignorant.

How would higher security at airports helped?

How can security possibly prevent 3 guys going on a plane, taking a stewardess hostage by choking a rope around her neck... then forcing her to the cockpit, demanding to be let in. How does security prevent all that? Who says weapons were used in the attack? Who needs weapons to knockout the pilots and take control of the aircraft (and Bin Laden had people in his organization that were pilots).

This wasn't about shortcomings in airport security, it's a result of poor work by the American Intelligence Agency and CIA who's main job is to monitor actvities abroad that can potentially lead to such a disaster.

I can see where your comin from.
At first I just wanted to say, "why didn't they know anything?"

But now i realize that it is really hard to control so much stuff.

Look at it. How do you pick out of all these threats and conversations and conspiracies which ones are actually going to be pulled off. It is nearly impossible to conrtol so much activity.

just my 2 cents

no i would have agreed then, and you are right they are on watch 24/7....the point i would like to make with that statement is the quality of survellience there....come on you would have to agree that the US is the most advanced country in the world. Even on the news they are saying there has been a threat of attack or they have known for sometime that an attack of this sort was possible...the government has there hands in everything and for them to not even have a clue about this horrific of an act is hard for me to believe.

and i know that not all the money goes for terrorist activity, but there are some big guns that are against the US and i would hope that they would have some idea of there activities

also i have heard that there were a total of 8 airplanes hijacked, is that true and also was one shot down by the US ???

Hindsight is easy when you're so ignorant.

ignorant to what ??? ignorant to the fact that the governement spends all that money and might as well be pulling names out of a hat right now because they have about as much of a clue as you and i do
