I've been on Dial-up at home for 10 years now, ever so slow since I live so far out in the boonies and the old phone lines were crap.
No Cable service, just a little too far out for Wireless, and Directway, well, that was out of the question.
Last year, I set up my office trailer and had 1.5 Meg DSL installed. Only then did I realize what I had truly been missing! I was in Internet heaven.
(Still use the Dial-up at my Apartment after work, but limit it's use to ATOT mostly.)
Couple of months ago, Alltel informed me that DSL was now available at my home. I signed up immediately.
Took them 5-6 weeks to work out the kinks in the old lines, but last weekend I was finally online with DSL!
A full 1.3 Meg DL speed!
Did my usual Sunday evening surfing at all my usual sites, and got caught up real quickly.
Dial-up sucks!
