I ordered a Canon G2 on July 10th. The ship date was July 15th. On the 15th I got an email saying it was delayed to the 24th. Fair enough...I expected that from Dell.

I log into my online account yesterday and it says that my order has been cancelled at the request of the user. I never cancelled my order. I emailed customer service and got the generic response. I replied to my confirmation email and stated that I did not cancel the order and wanted to know why it was cancelled.

They emailed me back saying they couldn't fulfill the order because they no longer carry that product. Why the hell did they delay the shipping and not tell me this two weeks ago? I can understand they ran out, but it is completely ridiculous that it took them TWO WEEKS to tell me they had more orders than cameras and couldn't fulfill my order.

Even Newegg can update in real time on their site how many of each product they have left. I won't be ordering from Dell ever again now.

BLAH! :|

Try Amazon.

$50 giftcard on any electronics purchase over $250, & their prices are pretty damn close to Dell even on Dell's killer deals.

Got a Minolta Dimage S414 for ~$290.

I ordered a monitor from Dell last Thursday and still haven't gotten the confirmation/shipped email that I was supposed to get within 1 business day.

Unless you got a KILLER DEAL (which is worth waiting for), cancel your Dell order and go through Amazon.com

I got a G2 for $363.

That is more than 150 off the cheapest NEW price at amazon. That is why i was willing to wait.

Welcome to the club!

Their software and periphirals department has about as much integrity as TigerDirect.com

NewEgg, Amazon, and OfficeMax pretty much get all my business these days.

I had a bad experience will a Dell sales rep. He gave me wrong dimensions on a laptop I ordered, and I ended up getting a good-sized brick instead of a sub-notebook that I wanted. I called them to take it back, and they wanted me to pay shipping. I had to argue with the lady for a bit before they sent out Airborne express to pick it up yesterday. I went out and bought a different brand because price difference. Oh well, might try them again in the future but I will use their online system instead.

Don't expect them to have it. Or let you know they don't have it for two weeks after you place the order.

I bought my system from Dell and a few friends have as well. The systems portion of their business seems to be 100 times better than anything else they do.

I know what you mean, but $50 off instantly and a $50 GC or rebate is different imo. I'd much rather have a choice or where to spend that money than be limited or left waiting. But that's just me :).
