Hey Dennil,

Did Russ' installation state to you that you actually had to "JOIN" Team Anandtech after running the client for awhile? Otherwise, we're gonna have to nag you some more!!! :Q:Q

Good point Dennil. If only I wasn't so lazy though ;)

In actual fact, I shall be on broadband very soon, so I'll prolly get round to this RC5 nonsense then ;)

His disk automatically puts you into Team Anandtech. ;)

That's perfect with me. I just found the lack of a graphical interface in the configuration window really geeky. :D

Snow Patrol,

I'm getting Look wireless when I move at the end of October. I'll have to uninstall this version and use his other disk then to resume cracking.

While the automatic installation configures you for the Team Anandtech settings, it does NOT join you to the team. You must crack a few block and after flushed (waiting at least 24 hours), go to the D.net statistics page and enter your e-mail address in the search box. Once found, go to the bottom of your stats page and click on the "e-mail me my password" link. Once recieved, go Here (TA D.net stats page) and click on " I want to join this team" at the bottom of the page. Enter your e-mail ID and the password that D.net e-mailed you from the earlier session. You are then officially cracking for TEAM ANANDTECH!

Welcome aboard to all!

There isn't much you can do to increase speed other than:

Remove all programs that are CPU hogs while not in use, disable screen savers (especially 3D OpenGL), having 'always on' selected in your Power Management control panel, and I have found restarting your computer is not a bad idea. If you're on NT 4 or 2000 this will be less of a problem, but it's usually a good idea anyway.

Oh, let me add that RC5 is not exactly the most exciting thing you can do on your computer, but it helps out TA quite a bit in the stats. The best think you can do is let it run as much as possible in the background, and forget it's there. It shouldn't cause any performance degration at all. If you do notice some lag in a game, let's say, just disable it before you play, and then launch it again when you're done. I'm a big Quake3/UT guy, and leave it running. I haven't noticed a slow-down at all, but some people find it to lower their gameplay by a couple fps, but that's it.

Now to install on more computers.

Should I just copy the config files from the first computer once it is all done with being authenticated and final?
