Doesn't look like Oregon has a search engine for this?

OTOH, there are only 12,000 in the state, and it's a BIG state. Not too worried.

I cannot believe no one has suggested this...

Make up hundreds of fliers with his picture, his address, and a listing of his crimes. Staple them to every surface in the neighborhood and put them in every mailbox.

Organize pickets with your fellow neighbors and protest in front of his house. Get bullhorns and make up a really annoying chant.

Do enough of this, and you'll force him to move.

I'm sure what he did was sick, but at some point you need to let people get on with their lives. Then again I'm not living across the street from this guy with kids.

I would agree with you if you were talking about robbery, or some other typical crime. However, being a pedophile is a mental illness and there is NO cure. No parent would be willing to gamble the safety of their children with someone like this. Unfortunately, as many have pointed out, there are sexual offenders all over your neighborhoods. You cannot avoid it. What you can do is become aware and educate yourself and your children.

seriously just tell your kids to be aware of him. Doors and Windows locked. Sex Offenders are not murders, they're not gonna sex you to death. No need for .38 specials or pump shotty. Simple mace and tasers will do. some come keychain ready!!

I agree with you completely. I understand where the others are coming from, but shouldn't a citizen be able to return to his life without being ostracized? If we do not trust our justice system, then why not lock them up for the rest of their natural lives? Once someone is out, I don't think they should feel as though they are still in prison, or even worse. Sometimes ostracism is what prompts them to commit a crime again, so they could return to prison where they're accepted.

I think it's okay that they have the Megan's Law, but we shouldn't use it to the detriment of the former convicts. We should use it to arm ourselves and our kids emotionally, mentally and physically.

Just because he made a mistake once doesn't mean he'll do it again. If your kids are intelligent enough they'll be able to keep out of trouble.

My girlfriends neighbor got caught last week looking into her sisters window at 3 in the morning. Her other neighbor happened to be up watching TV and called the police who busted him. My GF's dad was so furious he copied the police report, took out the information that law required him to withhold, and made copies of it and handed it out to everyone in the neighborhood. He also called a neighborhood meeting where they further discussed the issue. Now this guy, who admitted he likes staring at "pretty girls"(she is 14), is afraid to come out of his house. His blinds are constantly closed and he now lives in a shell afraid to come outside.
