I just queued Star Wars up on Bluray again even though the disc didnt work last time. Now I will ride out the hurricane with a movie I cant watch.

Need a new player, something that has a wide range of disc support but itsnt too expensive. Anything with good basic features under a hundred dollars?

When I say basic I mean: It doesnt need 3D or wifi or USB or even ethernet. Just needs to play all bluray discs currently available.

I dunno, isn't having connectivity of some kind good so it can update player firmware for possible compatibility issues?

Thats fine. I'm not deliberately looking for the oldest one I can get just for shits & giggles. All I'm saying is I need something basic. Only looking to play blurays, nothing more.

I already got a dirt cheap model and now am being punished for it. The Samsung I picked up was already known to be inferior. It only received two firmware updates and neither of them did much. Now I am at the point where I cant play newer discs.
If Star Wars were legally available for streaming someplace I wouldnt even worry about it. I'd toss the sucker and move on with my life. But I still need a disc player for at least a couple more years. I dont wanna spend a lot of money but my new player needs to run the widest variety of discs.

Come to think of it, I dont even know exactly why Star Wars isnt playing. Maybe I should investigate that before making a purchase.

Sadly that is more the norm than the exception. Fuckers won't update the players.

Well, I am a dumbass. Anyway, even the latest updates won't allow my parents to play some bds on their player either. They have a samsung pos and it is from 2009... they got ripped off; they were about to buy a good Sony one (like one of the last heavy duty ones they still had in stock) that was $100 cheaper but then the guy at best buy told them the Samsung had a "necessary" feature that my parents have not even used. I'm not only a dumbass, i am also pure loser because I tried to warn my parents, but they were swayed by the salesman... surely he was paid by commission or performance.
